Sedation Dentistry
Fort Lee Dental Sedation
We use sedation dentistry to reduce the anxiety or fear surrounding your dental visit.
Dental sedation is sometimes referred to as sleep dentistry, though you don’t actually sleep. Instead, we administer medication during your dental visit to produce a relaxing effect that may make you feel sleepy, but you do not become unconscious like in general anesthesia.
How Does Sedation Dentistry Work?
Different methods of dental sedation can be used. IV sedation has been used to slowly administer medication during your visit. However, newer methods that include oral sedation (taking a pill) or inhalation are becoming increasingly popular and less invasive.
Will I Remember Anything After Sedation Dentistry?
Patients are not placed in an unconscious state during sedation dentistry in our office. You will remember the experience, but the fear and anxiety will be gone.
Sedation dentistry helps those with dental anxieties receive the dental care they need. It is also a way to have many procedures done at once reducing both pain and the number of office visits needed.
If you have questions about dental sedation in our office, or would like to try it during your next visit, please let us know. Call Zampieri Dental Care in Fort Lee, New Jersey or fill out the form at the right of the page and learn how sedation dentistry can help you.
