TMJ treatment options we recommend may include:

• Wearing a dental appliance (e.g., a specialized mouth guard) that helps the TMJ have time to heal;
• Prescribing medication to ease the inflammation of the jaw area;
• Avoiding foods, especially gum, that require extensive chewing;
• Applying hot and cold therapy to relax the muscles, ligaments, and area surrounding the TMJ.
